chapter 12 - twins and snickers

"Zomigod, I was just missing you so much today!" I said as I lunged into the lanky boy's arms. He laughed as he hugged me back just as hard.

"I know, my twiny senses told me you were."

My twin. Oliver. I know, I know, my parents suck at twin names. I mean, Olivia and Oliver? Then he he's gay and also likes to be called Liv and Oli and all my nicknames so let's just say during forced family holidays we're Thing One and Thing Two...which we also fight about because I should be Thing One and he thinks he should be as well.

"Let's go get pizza from that sexy old guy." He suggested brightly.

"Kay!" I would have agreed to most things at that point, I was just so deliriously happy. I hadn't seen Oliver in over a year, which is a seriously traumatic thing for twins. I mean, we don't finish each other's sentences or anything Harry Potter like that, but we definitely look almost the same, cept I have boobs, and we act the same, and have the same taste in most things, especially boys. Oliver always says I was suppose to be the boy and he was suppose to be the girl because I was a tomboy and he was a priss.

"So what do you all usually do for fun around here?" Oliver asked that night after we gorged on two boxes of pizza.

"I can't move." Kare moaned out.

"It's okay, we'll roll you around." I laughed at my own joke and got a sock in the face for it.

"We usually sit around a bitch a lot, and sometimes we go out and get drunk and then bitch a lot...but about other people as suppose to each other." Kare answered matter of factly. I nodded rapidly in agreement.

"Sounds fun." I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not.

"I also just so happen to know of a party tonight if you want to go. I'm not going to lie I'm not too fond of the host but he's assured me of free alcohol and a lot of boys...not sure why he told me that last bit about the sausage fest but whatevs."

"I love sausage." Kare and I made a face at Oliver.

"Yup, I do." He confirmed again.

We ended up getting all snazzed up (actually not me; skinny jeans and t-shirt with Jethro Tull on it) and going to this supposedly lame party Kare was invited to. She wouldn't tell me who the host was but I had a feeling it was Greg the prissy red headed boy. The thought made me feel icky because he was a douche but I made myself feel better by teasing Kare about him.

"You want to catch the red fever or something?"

"Pretty sure it's Scarlet Fever genius." Kare pointed out dryly. I pouted at my epic fail.

"Damn it. Well I'm sure there was a red one too." I further pouted.

"You're an idiot."

"Oh yeah? Well you're ugly and so is your boyfriend." Kare shook her head at me as we walked up the pathway to a pretty nice sized house.

"He must have a nice job." Oliver commented offhandedly.

"Or he's a daddy's boy." Kare added.

"Or he's a...a.." I was saved by the front door opening. To my shock and horror and gaspful-ness, Zans the tumor stood there looking very chic model in a bikini strapped dress that fit her like a second skin. It was velvet blue and I almost had a fit right there in the entrance way.

"Oh hi, you must be Greg's friends. Come on in." She wasn't rude, in fact, she talked very pleasantly, which only made me hate her more. That plus the fact that she either didn't remember me or didn't find me a threat also fueled my temper. The house was spacious and decorated expensively, and it was currently holding more people than fire regulations would probably allow. We squeezed and pushed and I fell..twice, and finally we made it out to a backyard with a large porch with an expanse of green grass surrounding it.

"Owies, I hurted myself." I said as I rubbed at my right knee.

"Stop talking like a moron." Kare said casually as she scoped around the outside like a predator.

"I can talk like a moron if I want." I defended.

"You tell her Liv." Oliver said rolling his eyes in amusement.

"I'm going to go get a drink or ten." I huffed as I made my way back inside to find the kitchen slash drink stand...place.

"Get us something!" I heard Oliver and Kare yell in unison. They always ganged up on me, it wasn't fair. I was feeling very sorry for myself for no apparent reason so when I first caught a glimpse of Evan it didn't affect me. Then, like being dunked in cold water, I was guffawing and sputtering about like an old crappy car. I should have known he'd be here. I mean, was I retarded? Zans was here, and Greg was here, and and...other stuff. He was laughing with a group of other pretty boys and I got a sick heavy feeling in my stomach about it. I saw a girl come out of a doorway with a filled cup in her hands and figured that was probably a good guess as to where the drinks were coming from. Unfortunately Evan was standing ridiculously close to said doorway. Well oh well. I was going to be a big girl and walk right by him...and maybe nudge him in the ribs. Great plan. Great plan started going not so great when I realized Evan was now looking directly at me. For some unknown gravitational reasons I ended up walking straight to him. Fuck the moon...or whatever. He seemed surprised I was there standing in front of him like a moron, and I could tell because his eyebrows were way up and he had a "what the fuck" look about him.

"Hi." Good plan.

"Uh, hey." The other boys were snickering, probably thinking I was some stalker crusher girl. I turned around quickly and shot them all glares like a five year old.

"Do you know where the drinks are?" My mouth blurted out once I was facing Evan again. He looked up at his friends with a look on his face I couldn't quite read and then grabbed my elbow.

"Yeah. I'll show you." Some more snickering from his friends who were obviously incapable of doing anything else but snickering, and we were off.

"Oh, okay." I said a bit delayed.

"What are you doing here?" He asked monotonously as he led me through the crowds of people and not towards the doorway I would have chosen.

"I'm doing my laundry. What the hell do you think I'm doing here?" He shot me a dry look. We ended up in a less crowded part of the house that I was pretty sure didn't have any drinks in.

"Are you lost?" I asked curiously.

"What?"

"Well I mean, I don't see any drinks around here."

"Oh, I thought you were just trying to get me alone." He said honestly.

"Fuck you love yourself. No, genius, I actually want a drink. I know in Evan land everything is backwards and about you but here in real life-"

"Oh my god shut the fuck up." He said heavily. I realized then we were kind of backed up in a corner...very not good; Evan and corners equals naughty Olivia.

"Um, well I have to get drinks for other people too so if you're not going to show me where they are I guess I'll have to leave you alone here in this corner. Bye."

"Olivia wait." He said grabbing my wrist. A jolt of heat ran through me and I scolded.

"What?" I said nervously.

"Uh...I didn't actually have a plan past that." I was confused for a second and then couldn't help but relax a little.

"Nice." He gave a crooked smile and I returned one.

"So...um, are you going out with that girl?" Nothing like being obvious. Evan grinned.

"Why? You jealous?"

"No I'm just trying to make small talk since you've literally cornered me into this awkward conversation." I crossed my arms over my chest huffily.

"Well no, she's not my girlfriend and we're not dating. We've gone on dates and we've had sex but she's crazy so no."

"Wow. You could've stopped at no." I said grumpily. So he HAD had sex with her. That thought (and fucking mental image) made me boil in anger. I'm a seriously jealous person and I don't like people touching my things, even if they aren't mine anymore. I'm sure the anger showed on my face because Evan looked pleased.

"I have to go now. I hate you." I said forcefully as I pushed him hard into the wall and stomped off. Was I about to start my period or something? Who pushed people anymore? I thankfully managed to find the kitchen without further interruption and grabbed the first three cans of beer I saw then bolted back to my safety zone slash Kare and Oliver. The duo were talking animatedly (well as animatedly as Kare can get), with two nice looking guys; drinks already in their hands. I ended up sitting on a lawn chair and finishing off the three beers by myself...and then five more after that.

I was reaching for my whoknowswhatnumber beer in the kitchen when I heard-

"SHOTS!" From behind me. I turned around with my beer to leave and was instead handed the largest shot of I have no clue what. I shrugged and finished the vile drink before anyone else. The rubbing alcohol I was sure I had just consumed was twirling around inside me awfully, teasing my gag reflexes and blurring my vision every so often.

"Woah, careful Liv." I heard a male voice say from behind me. Two warm arms wrapped around my waist right before I toppled over and I let myself be pulled outside; the warm night air felt good on my skin.

"Here drink this." A glass of clear liquid was handed to me and I shook my head as I pushed it away from me.

"No. No more shots."

"It's water, baby."

"K." Was all I let out before downing the water. I was resting against a shoulder with my eyes closed, the feeling of twirling was overwhelming.

"Where's Oliver?" I asked out in a voice I didn't recognize as my own.

"Who?"

"Tall, boy, me-ish." I said while doing exaggerated hand movements.

"Baby, I don't understand what you're saying."

"Shhh." I said as I drifted off to sleep.
