Samantha stopped walking at the suggestion.
"What?"
"I said, why you don't move in with me and Liam. I mean, you know, until you can find another place to live. I don't like the thought of you living in a hotel, especially not one that won't allow you to bring your cat. And we're pretty close to the Starbucks you work at, and I'm sure Liam won't mind, and we won't charge you or anything, and then maybe you can save up for something and well, what do you think?" Samantha blinked multiple times. She opened her mouth, closed it, opened it, and then did a double sigh.
"B-but...really? You want me to move in with you?"
"Well yes. I think it's a great idea don't you?"
"But you don't even know me, and your brother, I don't think he'd like it if I moved in, and and..."
"Nonsense! We have plenty of room and we can put you on the third floor, nobody's up there, it can be your little private area and that way your cat is out of Liam's way as well. Really, he won't mind at all. And I can be very persuasive anyways. Come on please? It'll be so exciting and just think of how much fun we will have!" Samantha wanted to say yes so badly. She could think of nothing better than living with the perky red head and her perfect brother. Oh god. Her brother. Liam. Liam the object of her longing and affection. Liam, the first boy she ever...hugged, the first person to ever step foot in her apartment, the first person she'd ever had over for coffee. THAT Liam.
"Yes."
"Oh but Liam why not?!" June had raced home after telling Gray that she'd give her a ring tomorrow with details about the move. Liam had already been there sipping tea in the kitchen and reading the newspaper. Once June had informed him of her idea he had spilt his tea, dropped the newspaper, and was now red faced and being a prat.
"Because June, I said so."
"Well I already told her she could, so if you don't want her to move in then you're going to have to tell her because I refuse." June crossed her arms across her chest and grinned wickedly up at Liam. He was way too nice to tell someone something horrible like that. She knew she had won.
"Fine, I will."
"No you won't."
"Yes, I will."
"No you won't."
"Yes, I will."
"Liam Track if you dare make her cry again I'm going to-"
"I'm not going to make her cry! I'm simply going to tell her that you're out of your mind and that we don't have enough space."
"But Liam she's got no place to go!"
"That's her fault isn't it? She shouldn't have gotten herself evicted in the first place."
"Liam, you are so evil. I'm ashamed to be related to you right now." And with that June stormed up to the second floor. Liam could hear her door slamming once, twice, and a third time because June had quite a temper.
"Hello Samantha."
"Hello Liam. Would you like to come in?" She moved to the side like she had the other day and he found himself entering again.
"Is something the matter?" She asked softly. He turned around to face her and found her very close behind him, looking up at him with those eyes of hers.
"Oh, no, nothing, I just, um, that is..." She took anther step towards him and he had to keep his resolve!
"June told me about how she offered you a room in our apartment and I just had to come tell you that, in fact, we won't be able to...to um...that is, we won't-" She was smiling so brightly up at him he felt the need to close his eyes.
"Yes Liam?"
"We won't be able to help move you in until Friday, is that alright?" He he was such a bloody pushover.
